A PAYPHONE is to be removed because of continuing problems with vandalism.

The phone box in Leek is to be taken away by British Telecom. Town councillors said the kiosk, in Oakwood Road, had become an eyesore.

Councillor John Fisher added: "It is a mess and the best thing to do is remove it."
