Extra care housing is being planned for playing pitches site
AROUND another 225 extra care units could be created at a third development site.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council wants to build more extra care housing on Holdcroft Fields, in Abbey Hulton.
The 2.7 hectare area of open space is currently home to a number of playing pitches.
However, a planning statement reads: "Detailed negotiations have been undertaken with Sport England in relation to the development of the site.
"A number of options are being developed which will see the three replacement pitches being located in the locality, subject to Sport England's approval."
The statement also highlights the fact that the site does not currently generate any traffic and if the development went ahead, vehicle numbers would be significantly increased in the area.
It adds that various traffic-related information would have to be provided if a planning application is submitted.
Advice is that a consultation takes place with residents in the initial stages of the development.
