Explosive music from Clash tribute band
MORE than 30 years ago The Clash burst on to the music scene with their rebellious attitude and political lyrics.
Today's music has become far less political than that of the 70s and 80s. However, Clash tribute act, Rebel Truce, believe that their music is still influential and resonates with today's audiences.
Rebel Truce, who perform tomorrow night in their first gig at The Old Brown Jug in Newcastle, formed their act over a decade after The Clash split up.
Singer and guitarist Jerry Budby says: "The Clash are still as relevant today as they ever were.
"Their music is essentially rock and roll and we play it for everyone's enjoyment, both young and old."
The band are not a look-a-like act but strive to retain their idol's visual style and explosive stage presence.
