Expert words on Wedgwood
A TALK on Josiah Wedgwood and his business partners will be taking place next month to mark the 250th anniversary of the company he founded.
Wedgwood expert Kathy Niblett will give the talk on Friday, October 30 at Etruria Hall, in Festival Way, Etruria.
The event forms part of year-long celebrations to mark 250 years since Josiah Wedgwood first established the iconic company in Burslem in 1759.
The talk will run from 11am to 12.30pm and costs £6 per person. Places need to be pre-booked by calling Stoke-on-Trent Tourist Information Centre on 01782 236000.
The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, in Hanley, is also marking the anniversary.
Pottery created by Josiah Wedgwood himself – including examples of his famous blue and white Jasperware is aon display until November 22, entry is free. Opening times are 10am until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm until 5pm on Sundays
