Victoria Pearson, a 26-year-old nursery nurse from Bucknall, said: "I was on the way to work when I heard about the tickets. It was so exciting to see the team; I listen to the show every day."

Leanne Fowler, a 27-year-old nurse from Tunstall, said: "I was the last one to get a ticket. I didn't want to sing myself, I just thought it would be a good night out."

Jessica Evans, a 23-year-old PE teacher at Berry Hill School, from Kidsgrove, said: "The team gave tickets to teachers at the school. It was great to meet them and the kids were really excited."

Kieran Yates, a 25-year-old Volks-wagen parts adviser from Milton, said: "I listen to Chris Moyles every morning and think he's funny and witty – apart from when he was nasty about Stoke."
