Elvis steps in to help runner
A CHARITY evening at an Indian restaurant raised more than £1,700 towards a London Marathon runner's fund-raising total.
The event at The Mango Tree restaurant, in Draycott, saw diners treated to a meal and entertainment by an Elvis impersonator.
Cash raised will be donated to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice alongside other sponsorship money raised by Tean resident Trish Sargeant when she tackles the run on the capital's streets in April.
Event organiser Gill Maiden, of Caverswall Road, Blythe Bridge, said: "We had a packed restaurant and a good night."
The total raised was £1,749.
