CONVICTED cannabis dealer Christopher Dewaine has been given seven hours' unpaid work after he breached a suspended sentence order.

The 25-year-old, formerly of Greenfields Road, Tunstall, was last August sentenced to an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with 120 hours' unpaid work, supervision and a requirement to attend an enhanced thinking skills programme for possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

He has completed the unpaid work but he failed to attend the enhanced thinking skills programme on July 15.

Sophie Lomas, defending, said Dewaine had struggled to attend appointments due to casual work commitments. She added it was his first breach and he was motivated to continue.

Judge Paul Glenn, sitting at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, gave Dewaine the extra seven hours' unpaid work and ordered him to pay £110 costs.

He said: "If you breach it again I will send you to prison."
