Disco fun to raise cash for Ruby
TICKETS are still available for a Valentine's charity event to raise funds for a poorly girl.
A disco and charity auction are to be held next month in support of two-year-old Ruby Owen.
Ruby, pictured, from Kidsgrove, was given a less than 20 per cent chance of survival after being diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.
Her parents may have to find £250,000 to pay for radiotherapy treatment abroad so family and friends have arranged the Valentine's event at Kidsgrove Town Hall on February 6.
Auction lots include Jeremy Kyle Show tickets with accommodation, Manchester United and Wolves signed football memorabilia, and an Emmerdale script signed by the cast.
Entry is ticket only. The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5 from Paul Tucker on 07811 668721, Donna Downs on 07912 648505, or Sarah Beeston at 8 Russell Place, Sandyford.

“The website to donate is www.justgiving.com/rubyowen
Ruby is my little cousin and its just heart breaking to see her so sick. Please spread the word of how to donate and encourage those around you. Even the smallest amount helps... Thanks, Nadine”

“My husband and I were very saddened by Ruby and her parents plight as reported on ITV Central news on Mon night. We expected to be told of a tel. no or e.mail address that supporters could donate via. We were disappointed that none was advertised. I am sure many people hearing of the family's terrible situation would ,like us, want to donate towards helping little Ruby get the treatment that she so desperately needs. Could someone please e.mail any info regarding donations ie contact no's etc. Best Regards Mrs G Westall. Nottingham”
