PARENTS have been warned of the dangers of letting their children play at a derelict pub.

Blurton councillor Roy Naylor says he fears someone could be killed inside the disused Swallows Nest pub, in Newstead, and has spoken out to try and prevent an accident.

He said: "There have been reports of people hanging around the pub and I want to make sure parents know how dangerous it is.

"A lot of the floor is missing and I'm really worried someone could end up dead.

"It isn't an adventure playground, it is a death trap."

Residents have expressed fears that the building is dangerous for years.

Metal sheets were put up over the doors and windows of the buildings last month but Mr Naylor said some of these could now be damaged.
