Dentist plan may have hit a brick wall
PLANS for a new dental practice may be blocked because of a dispute over money.
Developer ADC has lodged plans to convert an office building in Brock Way, Knutton, into a dental surgery housing three dentists.

SURGERY PLAN: Our story earlier this month.
Planners at Newcastle Borough Council have recommended the scheme for approval, saying the need to provide oral health services in the area outweighs the loss of employment land.
But the officers say that before planning permission is granted, ADC should agree to contribute £5,000 towards the Newcastle Transport and Development Strategy (NTADS).
ADC says such a contribution would have a "devastating" impact on the development, and has asked for the requirement to be waived.
The officers' report to the planning committee says: "The seeking of a financial contribution of £5,000 towards NTADS would ensure that the proposed development improves local accessibility and the promotion of the most sustainable modes of travel.
"Your officers can see no substantive basis to recommend that the requirement be waived."
Brock Way is NHS North Staffordshire's preferred site for a new dental practice in Newcastle, because of its proximity to the new Milehouse Lane health centre.
The area has been identified by the North Staffordshire Primary Care Trust as having poor dental health and limited access to dental services.
A neighbouring business has raised concerns that the 17 parking spaces included in the plans will not be enough for a surgery with 8,000 patients.
But planning officers say Staffordshire Highways has raised no objection to the application.
The planning committee at the borough council will discuss the application tonight.
