IF I was a gambling man I'd lay a few quid on a few goals at Manchester City tomorrow.

But I wouldn't stick my neck out on who'll score what because this fixture really is a difficult one to call.

Stoke could go there and win, or go there and get hammered... that's how unpredictable Man City are at the moment.

They can be such a good team going forward and have proved that in recent matches by sticking six past Portsmouth and going two up on Liverpool.

But they ended up losing that Liverpool game in the last minute and that gives you an insight into their fallibility.

We all know about the talent Mark Hughes has at his fingertips – and give any Brazilian time and space and he'll destroy you.

But while they are great going forward, they can be suspect and leave the door open at the back.

So Stoke must go to Eastlands tomorrow and not only get in their faces, but not be afraid to be adventurous going forward either.

Someone in their midfield has got to be prepared to push on and try to get at City because Vincent Kompany could be the only defensive-minded player the home team will have outside their back four.

I liked the way Seyi Olofinjana got forward more in the second half of last Sunday's win over Spurs, so I see him as possibly being the man for that job.

Tom Soares also made a favourable impression on his debut and, if he gets the nod to play again, you'd like to think he'd get the chance to use his pace if City leave that back door open.

From the various Stoke games I've seen so far this season, they are only at their best when they play with the kind of tempo they showed in that second half against Spurs. So more of the same tomorrow please.

Tony Pulis has got another tricky decision to make in attack as Dave Kitson continues to attract attention.

I am personally a fan of his because he's got ability and can score, it just hasn't happened yet.

I also liked the little through balls he was threading in last week's game, it's just a pity they didn't always come off.

I remember Peter Dobing doing the same and Harry Burrows not being on quite the same wavelength to begin with, but those who had a go at Dobby were being unfair on him.

Ricardo Fuller simply has to play tomorrow because he's been Stoke's chief threat so far, but whether it's Kitson or Mama Sidibe, who's looking a better goal threat than last season, will be an interesting call.
