Darts: Taylor and Lewis team up for England World Cup bid
WORLD champion Phil "The Power" Taylor and his one-time protege Adrian "Jackpot" Lewis will pull on England shirts to defend their Betfair World Cup of Darts title next month.
The Potteries powerhouses defeated Australian pair Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson 12 months ago to lift the trophy at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle, Hamburg.
Now the number one and number two in the world have been selected to return to Germany as partners for this year's £150,000 tournament, from February 1 to February 3.
Raymond van Barneveld, who led the Netherlands to victory in the inaugural World Cup of Darts alongside Co Stompe in 2010, will be joined this time by Michael van Gerwen.

Van Gerwen lost to Taylor in the World Championship final earlier this month, having knocked then-title-holder Lewis out earlier in the competition.
He ousts Vincent van der Voort in the Dutch team which will be considered one of England's biggest threats to keeping hold of their crown.
Whitlock and Nicholson are also among the bookies' favourites as they return looking for revenge for Australia.
UK Open champion Robert Thornton has been named in the Scotland team alongside Gary Anderson, while Andree Welge will partner Jyhan Artut for Germany.
Connie Finnan will make his World Cup debut for the Republic of Ireland alongside William O'Connor, while Mark Webster and Richie Burnett (Wales) and Brendan Dolan and Michael Mansell (Northern Ireland) have also been seeded.
The 24-nation event will begin with a group stage, with teams drawn into eight three-team groups with each nation facing each other once over the best of seven legs.
