Darts: Potteries players to make Dubai debuts

PHIL Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Andy Hamilton will break new ground in May when professional darts makes its debut in Dubai.

The Potteries trio will be part of an eight-strong field at the Dubai Tennis Stadium, which forms the first leg of the PDC's World Series.

James Wade, Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock, Wes Newton and Raymond van Barneveld complete the field.

The event boasts $250,000 in prize money, with the winner picking up $50,000.

FORMER world champion Bob Anderson is to host a darts exhibition in Tunstall.

Anderson, who took the world title in 1988, will headline an event at Crompo's Pool Hall, in Greengates Street, on February 15 (8pm).

Two-time World Championship semi-finalist Alan 'The Iceman' Warriner-Little will also make an appearance, along with Mark 'Mile High' Hylton.

Lionel 'The Lion' Sams completes the line-up of special guests at the event.

VIP tickets cost £17 each or £30 for two. Tables of eight area are available at £105. Standard tickets cost £8.
