CHARACTERS from Beauty And The Beast mingled with guests at a coffee morning so they could help drum up support for a pantomime.

More than 150 people went to the event at St Mary's Church Hall, in Nantwich, on Saturday, which was organised by the Shavington Village Pantomime Committee.

And members dressed up as a dame, parrot, tiger and the Beast to help promote the group's 32nd annual production.

They also organised a tombola and raffle to raise funds for the show.

Beauty And The Beast will be performed at Shavington Leisure Centre from February 16 to 20 and involves adults and children from the Shavington area.

Committee member Rob Everall said: "We must have had about 150 to 160 people at the coffee morning. The characters were handing out flyers to them."

The event generated £115, after costs had been covered, but organisers were pleased it had also raised the profile of the pantomime.
