Dad and son beat up daughter's ex and left him begging for his life: William and Ashley Davis jailed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court
A FATHER and son have been jailed for threatening to kill a man who begged for his life as he was punched, kicked and had his ear bitten.
William Davis, aged 49, and his 25-year-old son, Ashley, left Andrew Carter with serious injuries including a fractured nose and a collapsed lung following the attack on December 11.

Prosecutor Neil Ahuja yesterday told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court the victim had been in a relationship with Samantha Davis – William's daughter and Ashley's sister – and two months earlier she had given birth to a child. But they were no longer together.
At about 7.30pm, Mr Carter sent a text saying he was sorry about the way things had turned out for him and Samantha and praising her qualities as a mother.

But soon after he heard a knock on the door of his flat in Woodberry Close, Trent Vale, and saw William Davis.
Mr Ahuja said: "He opened the door to give access to his flat. He noticed Ashley Davis was present. He went inside the flat too.
"Ashley grabbed the victim by the throat and punched him to his left eye. He kept hold of him by the throat causing his head to strike a door frame. The complainant fell to the floor and curled up in a ball to protect himself. Both defendants kicked him on the floor."
Mr Carter heard one of the defendants say, 'You are going to die for what you have done to Sammy,' as he was kicked.
Ashley then dragged Mr Carter into the bathroom and punched him.
Mr Ahuja said: "The complainant felt a terrible pain to his left ear and realised Ashley was biting into it.
"Both defendants continued to threaten he was going to die.
"Mr Carter was dragged into the kitchen and was kicked across the floor by both as he begged them to stop.
"He felt he needed to get out of the flat otherwise he would be in danger of losing his life. He managed to scramble out and stopped a passer-by who called the police."
Mr Carter was left with a fractured nose, fractured ribs, a collapsed lung, a bite to his left ear and swelling and bruising.
Ashley Davis, of Newhouse Road, Bucknall, and William Davis, of Beveridge Close, Meir, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Jason Holt, representing Ashley Davis, said his client had no intention of assaulting Mr Carter when he went to the flat but matters 'blew up' when they entered.
Angela Berrisford, mitigating for William Davis, said his recollection of the incident is limited but he has since undergone an alcohol detoxification in custody.
Judge Granville Styler jailed Ashley Davis for 30 months and William Davis for two years.
He told the defendants: "This was a serious assault. It was a drunken attack on a man in his own home and involved kicking, biting and punching him. It was a sustained attack and caused him serious injuries."
