DJ's sing-a-long show is huge hit with crowd (PICS)
Radio 1 DJ and former Signal Radio presenter Chris Moyles told crowds he was happy to be "back up 'Anley duck" when he brought his karaoke roadshow to the city last night. Katie Cooksey went along to meet the man himself.
AROUND 700 people lucky enough to get hold of a ticket enjoyed a night of banter and sing-a-longs at Chris Moyles' karaoke roadshow.
Fans of the motormouth DJ, as well as those who love belting out a tune, got the chance to get up on stage and – accompanied by a live band – duet with the Radio 1 Breakfast Show team.
The audience were treated to karaoke classics including I'm A Believer and Suspicious Minds at the event at Jumpin' Jaks in Hanley – and there was plenty of banter between Chris and the crowd.

Mr Moyles is known for talking on air about his time living in the city when he was a DJ on Signal Radio in the early '90s.
And last night some of his jibes about the Potteries drew boos from the audience.
But when Chris asked whether people would choose to live in Stoke-on-Trent rather than Milan or New York he was forced to eat his words as cheers rang round the hall.
Chris was broadcasting his national show today from BBC Radio Stoke, including clips from last night, and said he would then be taking a nostalgic tour of his old haunts.
Chris told The Sentinel last night: "When (breakfast show team member) Aled told me we were going to Stoke-on-Trent I was a bit unsure but then thought it would be quite nice to go on a tour of memory lane. I want to find my old house in Longton and see if they will let me in to Signal Radio.
"I had a really good time when I lived here and made some really good friends. As I drove into the city it all came back to me, not a lot seems to have changed and it's good to be back.
"I've made some jokes about the city but it's just my sense of humour. We got a bigger response from people in Stoke than anywhere else we've been with the karaoke night."
The announcement on Monday's Breakfast Show that the tour was coming to Stoke-on-Trent sparked excitement among fans.
Following the news that team member Aled Hayden-Jones was giving out tickets for the event at the Victoria Hall, crowds rushed to the spot and all 600 passes were handed out within 13 minutes.
In the run-up to the big night, Aled was in the city centre again giving away another 80 tickets yesterday.
He also broadcast a tongue-in-cheek guide to Stoke-on-Trent, describing the city as "one of the most unique places on the planet" during yesterday's breakfast show.
It stated: "Many people regard Stoke as a bit of a dump that's best seen at speed while passing on the M6, but that's not strictly true as these days it has much more going for it.
"Stoke does lay claim to its fair share of entertainment heavyweights who started life in the town before moving away to a better life."
Despite upsetting some listeners, it did not dampen the spirits of those that turned up to last night's karaoke.
Last night's first song, sung by Chris, was Tony Christie's (Is This The Way To) Amarillo.
Carly Ball, a debt collector from Leek, was second to be called on to the stage to sing Valerie by The Zutons.
The 22-year-old said: "I was driving to work when I heard the announcement, but I wasn't sure where exactly the Victoria Hall was, so I was driving round then I dumped the car and ran for the queue.
"I like how Chris takes the mickey, his sense of humour. I know he's said some uncomplimentary things about Stoke but it's just banter, people shouldn't take it seriously."

“I too went along last night n couldn't fault Chris Moyles or his team.
The venue, Jumpin Jacks was an absolute rip off - £7.20 for two bottles of beer?!
You'd have to earn as much as Chris to pay for them!!”

“John Woodhouse = moron! What's the point in joining in the Moyles bashing so loved by the red tops.
I was there last night - Moyles did make jokes about Stoke everyone took them as they were meant - lighthearted.
It was a great night and brilliant fun (except JJ's overpriced drinks!).
People moan that nothing happens in Stoke then when the UK's biggest radio station brings one of the most popular DJ's to the town FOR FREE, people still complain!
Moyles - I had a great night and I'm very thankful you came and entertained us ;)”

“The guy lived here for a couple of years he's got every right to call the place a dump.
A fair few "locals" have echoed the same sentiments on this very same web site.
It's good to see he acknowledges the peoples spirit and quite rightly ripped into John Woodhouse this morning on the show.”
