"Crews treated a 14-year-old boy, who is believed to have been travelling on his bike at the time of the incident. The boy had suffered multiple injuries to his leg, arm and head. He was immobilised before being airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

"The hospital was pre-alerted to the arrival of the boy and of his injuries."

The ambulance service said the driver of the car, a woman believed to be in her 40s, was also treated at the scene before being taken to Stafford Hospital for assessment.
