Cycling: Penkhull rider Kian Emadi enjoys medal rush
PENKHULL rider Kian Emadi picked up two gold medals and a silver at the National Junior Track Championships at Newport.
Emadi claimed the keirin and kilo titles, but missed out on top spot in the match sprint.

MEDAL MAN: Kian Emadi won two gold medals and a silver at the prestigious national junior championships which were held in Newport.
The 18-year-old, who is awaiting news on his application to join the British Cycling Academy in Manchester, qualified fastest for the match sprint in 10.62, but was edged out by John Paul in the final.
Emadi found his form in the keirin where, after sailing through his heat, he launched an attack two laps from home in the final to leave his rivals trailing.
His final event saw him clock a fast 1:04.00 for the kilo to secure gold.
Biddulph's Declan Byrne produced an impressive display in the points race and ended the event with two sprint wins to claim a bronze medal – only missing out on a silver medal by virtue of countback.
In the youth championships, Newcastle RC 2001-Modern Glass's Joe Evans finished sixth overall in the youth omnium.
In the 1,500m pursuit, he was sixth and picked up a seventh-placed finish in the sprint.
The Uttoxeter youngster took ninth in the scratch and he was fifth in the 500m time trial.
Evans followed up by taking second in the West Midlands Regional Circuit Championships at Lichfield.
Lyme RC-Swinnerton Cycles's 13-year-old Paige Milward took fourth place in the under-16 scratch.
She placed fifth in the under-14 omnium with her best placing of second in the 7.5k scratch race.
Sassan Emadi took fifth place in the under-16 sprint, sixth in the 500m time trial and third in junior kilo.
LONGTON'S Simon Bills (Team Afford Rent-a-Car) was the first over-45 firefighter home in the Emergency Services National RR Championships.
The 65-mile event was held over seven testing undulating laps at Bishops Sutton in Somerset.
He beat his companions to take seventh in the race to secure the over-45 award.
Newcastle RC 2001-Modern Glass's Dave Farmer was the first over-55 past the post in the police section.
