LEEK will miss out on a Derbyshire match this summer, but the county side have not ruled out hosting matches in the Staffordshire Moorlands in future seasons.

County bosses have opted to play their Friends Life T20 match against Durham Dynamos on June 20 at Derby instead of Highfield.

The Macclesfield Road ground hosted a 40-over match against Essex Eagles in 2010 and a Twenty20 game versus Warwickshire Bears last year.

But Derbyshire chief executive Keith Loring said: "The way the fixtures have fallen has not been conducive to a match at Leek in 2012, but it remains very much in our thinking for future years.

"The two matches we have hosted at Highfield have been a success.

"But with only five Friends Life T20 matches in 2012 and four of our Clydesdale Bank 40 matches accounted for by television coverage and the Chesterfield Festival, our hands have been very much tied for the forthcoming campaign."
