Crewe Alexandra: Steve Davis puts players on extra shooting practice
CREWE manager Steve Davis has subjected his strikers to extra shooting practice as he admits to getting frustrated by a lack of consistency.
Davis reckons the Alex missed at least four clear chances to find the net in a 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury on Saturday and says they cannot afford to be so wasteful.

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has subjected his strikers to extra shooting practice in a bid to tackle missed chances.
That will especially be the case on a trip to League One title-chasers Sheffield United (7.45pm) to take on a team which has only shipped 12 goals in 18 league games.
"We have shown glimpses but not enough," said Davis.

"There have been too many blanks this season. That can be down to concentration or the step some of them have had to make up taking longer than anticipated."
"Yesterday we were doing crossing and shooting in training, hoping that if something drops for us this evening then they are in the right frame of mind to put it in the net."
Crewe are expected to field an unchanged team from Shrewsbury, with Kelvin Mellor (knee) and Ajay Leitch-Smith (ankle) still sidelined.
However, Max Clayton is pushing for a recall into the forward line after featuring in the Alex under-21 side's 4-3 win over Leeds United yesterday.
