Crewe Alexandra: Nathan Ellington scores again to ramp up pressure on Steve Davis
NATHAN Ellington has ramped up his case for a Crewe contract by scoring his fourth goal in as many reserve games.
The 31-year-old trialist put in another impressive display when he was on target as an over-age player in the Alex under-21s' 1-1 draw at Birmingham City yesterday.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis.
It provides food for thought for manager Steve Davis, who bemoaned a lack of clinical finishing when his senior side lost 2-1 to Portsmouth at the weekend.
Davis said: "It's an ongoing process. I've spoke to him about his performances and I'll keep talking to him. We're having a good look at him and sooner or later we'll have to make a decision, but we haven't come to that stage yet."

Crewe are in the midst of their longest break without a game until late April. Seven days separate the Pompey defeat from Saturday's trip to Colchester United. The fixture list is then cluttered by mid-week games.
But full-back Kelvin Mellor, who dropped to the bench last time out, insists there will not be too much time to rest after a disappointing dip in form in League One.
He said: "We've got a full week's training this week and we've got to get back to basics."
