Crewe Alex starlet gets Wales Under-21s call-up
CREWE Alexandra's rookie centre-half George Ray has been called up to play for Wales under-21s.
The 19-year-old, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Railwaymen, had been on standby for an under-21 Euro 2015 qualifier against Moldova.
However, Swansea City's Danny Alfei and Ipswich Town's Elliott Hewitt, both defenders, have dropped out of the squad for Friday's match.
Ray impressed on loan at Leek Town late last season and has been on the fringes of the Crewe first team this term.

Mathias Pogba will face MK Dons, but then misses Saturday's trip to Crawley Town as he flies to Mozambique to play for Guinea in a World Cup 2014 qualifier on Sunday.
Loan midfielder Brad Inman will not make a return to action tomorrow. He has gone back to parent club Newcastle United to have an ankle injury assessed.

“Absolutely fantastic that Crewe Alex have three of their squad representing their countries this week. Testament to one of the best academies in the country.”
