Crewe Alex: All quiet on transfer front, says Davis
STEVE Davis says he has enjoyed a quiet first week of the transfer window ... and hopes it stays that way.
The Crewe Alexandra manager is guarding a couple of prized assets, with captain Luke Murphy attracting the most attention.
Davis admits that the club will not stand in players' ways when the right offer comes in, but is not expecting much business this month.
"It's still quiet, nothing is happening at the moment," he said.

"I've got a good group here, great to work with and everyone gets along so I'm not looking strengthen at this present time.
"Maybe if we do lose someone I'll have to do something but hopefully it will remain quiet."
Crewe are cash rich at the moment having sold Nick Powell to Manchester United and Ashley Westwood to Aston Villa in 2012.
Davis said: "I hope to keep our best players for as long as possible so the club has the best chance to progress."
