Crewe Alex: Michael West is fourth through door at Gresty Road
CREWE manager Steve Davis dipped into the Blue Square Bet Premier again to make Michael West his fourth summer signing.
Winger West, aged 21, chipped in with nine goals for Ebbsfleet last season, having banged in 23 the previous campaign to help the club win promotion from Blue Square South.
And now the set-piece expert, like Wrexham forward Mathias Pogba before him, has opted to move up two divisions to join the Alex in League One.
Davis is not expecting immediate miracles from the former Fulham trainee, but is eager to eke out his full potential.

He said: "Michael is one for the future and we have brought him in because he has a lot of potential and there is something to work with.
"He may be ready for the first team or we might have to wait a while.
"We needed another winger whether Byron Moore stays or not and we are delighted to have brought in another wide player who has a good goalscoring record."
Crewe have agreed a nominal compensation package with Ebbsfleet for West, who was on a part-time contract.
The youngster, who can also play in a central front role, has signed a two-year deal with the Railwaymen.
Davis has also added centre-half Mark Ellis, from Torquay, and left-back Gregor Robertson, from Chesterfield, to his first-team squad as he prepares for life in League One.
Young goalkeeper Robbie Johnson, aged 17, has left Ashton Athletic to sign a two-year scholarship with Crewe.
The teenager was released by Wigan Athletic in October last year and will now work under player-coach Steve Phillips at Reaseheath.
