Crewe Alex: Loan duo James Tunnicliffe and Jamie Lowry could be poised for return
FORMER loanees James Tunnicliffe and Jamie Lowry are in the frame to make a return to Crewe.
The duo impressed in short stints at Gresty Road last season, and both are now free agents.
Centre-half Tunnicliffe made two appearances for Crewe in February before dislocating a shoulder in the Alex defeat at Southend.
However, the 23-year-old was released by parent club Wycombe Wanderers following their relegation to League Two.
Midfielder Lowry won a lot of admirers in his two months in South Cheshire.
But the 25-year-old was also shown the door after parent club Chesterfield also slipped back into League Two.
Both play in positions the Crewe management team are looking to bolster ahead of their return to League One on August 18. And assistant boss Neil Baker made no secret of the fact their names had been up for discussion.
He said: "With Dave Artell being released we will be getting a centre-half in, and James Tunnicliffe is among two or three we are considering for there.
"We have talked about Lowry too, but there have been others as well."
