CREWE have today signed Leeds United striker Anthony Elding.

The 26-year-old has joined the Alex on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The former Stockport County player's chances were limited at Leeds and he was omitted from their pre-season tour to Ireland.

Crewe had previously agreed a fee for Elding, but a deal failed to materialise.

Elding, who scored 24 goals in 45 league games at Stockport, is delighted to have finally completed a move to South Cheshire.

He said: "I am finally here, and now I am looking to get some goals and do well.

“It is a great club and a great chance for me to show everyone that I am capable of playing in League One. I'm really looking forward to it and to the challenge.”
