BRAD Inman has praised the decoy runs of Chuks Aneke and Ajay Leitch-Smith as he relived every twist and turn of his goal-of-the-season contender against Coventry City.

The 21-year-old midfielder scored the first two goals of a 3-0 win for the Alex in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday – but it was his second which provided the night's killer blow.

Crewe were under the cosh as Coventry pushed for an equaliser when a clearance found its way to Inman near the half-way line on 78 minutes.

The loan man swung around his marker, swerved past another couple of defenders and sped forward before finding into the bottom corner of the Coventry net with a shot from the edge of the home penalty area.

He said: "I took a touch and the players around me seemed to be too tight to me, so I could spin past. Ajay and Chuks made good runs so it opened up for me and I kept going ... kept going and went for the shot.

"It's good to score goals like that, but the important thing is that the team is winning."
