Crewe Alex: Injured Artell ruled out of crucial Torquay clash
SKIPPER Dave Artell has been ruled out of Crewe's big match at Torquay.
The 31-year-old centre-half aggravated an old hamstring injury when scoring against Cheltenham last weekend and will not have improved sufficiently to make Saturday's League Two clash.

Artell won't travel to Devon with the rest of the Alex squad, but will stay in South Cheshire to receive treatment in a bid to be fit to face Aldershot on the final day of the season.
Teen hot-shot Nick Powell was also missing from training yesterday as he slowly recovers from tonsilitis. But assistant boss Neil Baker hopes he can still play a part at Plainmoor.

He said: "Nick hasn't been with us all week, but we'll no more about him today.
"Dave won't play. He has been a rock at the back and we're disappointed to lose him, but we're still strong in that area."
A win for Crewe and anything less than a victory for Oxford at home to Southend will seal a play-off spot for the Railwaymen. But fourth-placed Torquay are also desperate for maximum points as they chase an automatic promotion place.
Crewe manager Steve Davis said: "We know it will be a tough game against one of the best footballing sides in the league. There is plenty riding on it."
