Crewe Alex: Alex hope Gresty Road will thaw in time for visit of MK Dons
CREWE are hoping for an upturn in temperatures to ensure their home match against MK Dons can go ahead on Saturday.
The Alex managed to get their Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern semi-final against Bradford City on at Gresty Road last night, despite the freeze gripping South Cheshire.
Manager Steve Davis wants to take the momentum from that 4-1 win into League One, but ground staff cannot put covers back in place and are left keeping their fingers crossed for a favour from above.
Temperatures are set to dip to minus 3C tonight but predicted to rise a little through Thursday and Friday, when snow is expected to fall in the town.

Club spokesman Rob Wilson said: "It's early to make any guesses at the moment but we can't put the covers down on the pitch after they were removed for the game last night.
"They've given out snow for Friday so that should mean the temperature rises a little bit. Hopefully the pitch will be ok and we can get the game on, obviously we will know more over the next couple of days."
