FOLLOWING the discovery of three cannabis factories at houses containing more than 600 plants, a Chinese National has appeared before North Staffordshire Magistrates' Court.

Duan Lin, aged 24, formerly of Trafalgar Road, Hanley, now of no fixed address is charged that between February 1 and March 22 this year at Tunstall he produced cannabis.

He is also charged with producing cannabis in Hanley and Newcastle on August 7.

Magistrates yesterday declined jurisdiction and Lin was remanded in custody to appear via the video link on August 18. Committal proceedings to the crown court are set for September 21.
