I WAS not surprised when the council refused the 'Save Our Stoke' petition to be referred to a scrutiny committee 'for a full public debate'.

I feel they have made their decision to move lock stock and barrel to Hanley.

  1. DEBATE: Mohammed Pervez, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

DEBATE: Mohammed Pervez, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

To be told by Mr Pervez to 'wake up to reality' I find this to be a insult to a person who works every day in Stoke town and cares about Stoke town where he lives.

The support from the people of Stoke-on-Trent has been superb, and much appreciation must go to the organisers of the 'Save Our Stoke' campaign.

“"People Power" needs to get serious if we are to save this city for the people instead of those manipulating us for greed...”

“i totally agree and fear that pervez is now so full of his own importance that we mere mortals count for nothing. this is a huge decision and it really should have been proposed in an open and 'transparent' manner.

i must say that i was surprised by councillor conteh's claim (webcast of council meeting 6th sept) that he had not been included in any talks, talks which at some point must have been preliminary.

i am very disappointed by the pompous display of arrogance on the part of mr.pervez.”
