Consumers to receive tips at library events
ADVICE about scams and rogue traders will be on offer during a series of events.
Trading Standards staff and community watchdogs will be visiting libraries across Staffordshire in March and April to answer questions, offer help and hand out information on subjects such as consumer rights and bogus callers.
Drop-in sessions will be held at Newcastle Library on Thursday between 1pm and 3pm, and Cheadle Library on Monday between 10am and noon.
Wolstanton Mobile Library also plans to host an event at Wolstanton Workingmen's Club, in High Street, Wolstanton, on April 1 between 10am and noon.
Meanwhile, Barlaston Mobile Library will hold sessions at The Plume of Feathers, in Station Road, Barlaston, on April 6 between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
It will also put on an event at Barlaston Village Hall, in Longton Road, Barlaston, between 2pm and 4pm on the same day.
County councillor Ben Adams, cabinet member for communities and culture, said: "These sessions provide a great opportunity for Staffordshire residents to find out more about the work of Trading Standards and a whole host of consumer issues, in addition to picking up tips on how to steer clear of scams and bogus callers.
"I would urge people to drop into their local library to find out more during the next few weeks."
