“Sentinel: "The incident - which involved a Mini Cooper and a Vauxhall Agila - took place close to to the Stoke Road and City Road interchange - near the A50 turnoff to the Britannia Stadium". -unquote.

Ambiguous. To mention the Stoke Road and City Road 'interchange' -There isn't one.

There are two 'interchanges' concerning Stoke town. There is the 'Stoke Road Interchange;; and there is the 'City Road Interchange'.
By referring to the Britannia Stadium turnoff.. the Sentinel Report suggests that the accident was the 'near to, or at, the 'City Road Interchange', and not the 'Stoke Road Interchange.

And one other point re the ambiguity, It is incorrect to state, as the Sentinel did, 'the A50 turnoff TO the Britannia Stadium.....' - The A50 turnoff is AT the Britannia Stadium and more correctly should read .. 'The A50 turnoff at Sideway to Uttoxeter/Derby.... '

PS Do they ever refer to the Sideway A50/A500 junction as an 'Interchange'? And is it? I suppose it must be; because you can 'interchange' in all directions on the two roads concerned.

Radio Stoke, for instance, when reporting problems southbound on the M6 (further south) often incorrectly refers to J10A as the "M54 Interchange'... when it is no such thing.
They also, when reporting problems southbound on the M6, refer incorrectly to J10A -as the '"M54 TURNOFF".
