Closing toilets is simply another daft suggestion
ONCE again the council has been thinking up daft ideas on how to annoy us. I'm referring to the article Plug Being Pulled On Public Toilets (The Sentinel, August 3).
There must be a little man there sitting in a room, being paid a vast amount for stupid ideas like this. What about small children? Pregnant ladies? The elderly or people with bladder conditions? Not to say people getting off the buses after long journeys. Are they to walk up to a public park at the Brampton, as they suggested?
It won't be long before people visiting Newcastle won't come as they know there are no public toilets. Everyone does not want to go to a pub or McDonald's just to go and I am sure they would not be very happy.
The toilets are the cleanest I have seen and the attendants are very happy and friendly towards the public. So I am sure the council could find other ways to cut money ie: from the people who think up these daft ideas on vast wages.

“Actually, Mrs. Proctor, I think you will find that our local councils are infested with little men sitting in rooms, being paid vast amounts for coming up with stupid ideas. Not to mention elected councillors who have no experience (or knowledge) of anything except how to swing a Five-Iron.
The reason is that employers in the private sector, who have to actually produce results in order to maintain their livelihoods, wouldn't be stupid enough to give them a job!”
