City painted in such a bad light
I WATCHED all three of the BBC programmes and it showed our once-proud and productive area in such a poor light, but they only portrayed what has happened under the current administration.
All the councillors should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. The residents have not caused this situation.
It was the council's five-year, 10-year and 15-year plans for regeneration that have decimated the city, bringing about mass destruction of homes, shops, factories, and left the place looking like a bomb site – most of the flattened land belonging to St Modwen.
There was a letter in The Sentinel recently about the £40 million office block to be built in Hanley. The writer pointed out that the new council office in Hanley was not mentioned in their last manifesto.

So who has given them permission to borrow more than £40 million?
Would anyone in the world be willing to lend to a council that cannot even collect unpaid council tax that goes back 17 years?
I should also like to remind the councillors that they should be representing us and not simply pleasing themselves.
