City immigration plan has failed
WHAT a great letter by Andrew Washington (The Sentinel, January 9), regarding the John Woodhouse article on the implications of Staffordshire Moorlands' 97.5 per cent white British population.
I have to confess a self interest in the subject because if my plans come to fruition in the near future, we shall be moving to a pretty canal-side hamlet in the area, and thankfully out of the clutches of this third-rate failed council. Born and bred in Stoke-on-Trent I have had a gut full of the area and an arrogant council hell bent on turning the area in to the next Bradford or Burnley.
Can you really blame them for their arrogance though when a largely ignorant electorate has been returning an undeserving Labour in the area at every election since 1945? Surely it's time to see how the Lib Dems or Conservatives could do?
But not with an electorate apparently happy to spend their lives in a two-up two-down properties, grunting over beans on toast while they ponder their 'dreams' – a win on the lottery or the even greater holy grail – being awarded a blue badge.

The real pride left the area with it's industrial collapse.
Stoke-on-Trent's skyline once famous for bottle kilns and pit head gear will soon be just as well known for mosques and Muslim schools.
I have no objection to limited immigration but look what happens when a council gets it wrong.
Mr Washington is correct in his suggestion British white folks are relocating 'to get away from Stoke-on-Trent'.
