A DISABLED Manchester City fan can go to home games again next season – after securing a helper to take him to matches.

Multiple sclerosis sufferer Andrew Crichton, from Congleton, had already been looking forward to the upcoming campaign after renewing his season ticket at Eastlands.

But he has an electric wheelchair and an adapted car, and needed a helper to take him to games.

Now post office worker Tom Simmons, from Biddulph, has agreed to take Andrew to the matches and watch the games with him.

Forty-three-year-old Andrew said: "Supporting City is the triumph of optimism over reality. I love seeing City play and the year I can't see them is the year we'll probably win something."
