WRITE STUFF: Comic, poet and writer Ian Billings visited children at Chesterton Primary School yesterday.

And the writer of CBBC TV show ChuckleVision proved a big hit.

Samantha Fraser, key stage one manager and literacy co-ordinator at the Brittain Avenue school, said: "We also welcomed parents as we are encouraging the children to read at home and for them to see the enjoyment of reading.

"It was a fantastic day. The children really enjoyed it and did not want Ian to leave."

Author Philip Lees will visit the school tomorrow as it celebrates World Book Day.
