OFFICERS and councillors are to debate how the city council can make sure it is looking after children and families.

The authority is working on a new 'children's plan' which will shape how money is spent and decisions are made for the next three years.

It is due to be discussed at a meeting of the council's children's services scrutiny committee tomorrow.

Eleanor Brazil, interim director of children's services, said: "The children and young people's plan is the defining statement of priorities for children, young people and families in the city."
