Charlotte Smith murder trial to start in June
THE trial of a man accused of murdering his wife has been delayed until the summer.
Devendra Singh, aged 33, appeared at Stafford Crown Court yesterday charged with killing Charlotte Smith, whose body was discovered at her home on Ladderedge, Leek, on September 6.
A post-mortem examination revealed the 41-year-old died from head and facial injuries, which are suspected to have been caused by a blunt instrument.
Singh, of Ladderedge, denies her murder and was due to stand trial this week.
