Charlotte Smith murder trial to start in June
THE trial of a man accused of murdering his wife has been delayed until the summer.
Devendra Singh, aged 33, appeared at Stafford Crown Court yesterday charged with killing Charlotte Smith, whose body was discovered at her home on Ladderedge, Leek, on September 6.

'TRAGIC LOSS': Charlotte Smith was found dead in her house.
A post-mortem examination revealed the 41-year-old died from head and facial injuries, which are suspected to have been caused by a blunt instrument.
Singh, of Ladderedge, denies her murder and was due to stand trial this week.

However, the case had to be adjourned to allow the Crown Prosecution Service to obtain an expert report.
Judge Simon Tonking said it was 'in the interests of justice' to allow the extra time.
The trial will now begin on June 18.
