A FETE to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee takes place this weekend.

The event in Weston Coyney will feature a variety of entertainment including a coconut shy, stocks, street games and a bungee run.

Elvis tribute act Gordon Hendricks will also be making an appearance.

Entry is free and the fete takes place at Weston Coyney Junior School, in Princess Drive, on Saturday.

It has been organised by Weston Coyney Residents' Association.

Secretary Sue Bourne said: "The celebration is to revive memories for people of a certain age of the time when the Queen succeeded to the throne.

"It is also to pass on to the younger generation the sort of fun time which will colour their memories."

The fete runs from 1pm until 4pm. Spaces are still available for a car boot sale taking place at the same time.
