Caudwell Children celebrates tenth anniversary
GO MAD!: A charity which has raised £11 million for sick and disabled children marked its 10th anniversary – by launching a new service.
Potteries-based Caudwell Children unveiled its Family Support Service at a bash based on the Mad Hatter's tea party in Stoke City's Britannia Stadium yesterday.
Businessman John Caudwell founded the charity in 2000 to help youngsters from Stoke-on-Trent. But since then it has supported more than 4,500 children nationwide and its new unit, funded by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, aims to help carers.
Charity chief executive Trudi Beswick said: "It is the smiles on the faces of the children that drives our determination to help as many as possible."
