CHESHIRE East Council will this week open a consultation into the future delivery of adult social care at Mountview Community Support Centre in Congleton.

The proposal is part of an ongoing commitment from the Council to deliver high-quality social care services which meet the needs of the community, while ensuring value for money for the taxpayer.

It is part of a wider review that seeks to ensure that council services deliver modern standards of care.

Part of the consultation will involve the council listening to feedback from customers and carers who use the centre and others in the community.

The consultation will also look at how the customers' and carers' needs can be met in different ways. This will include a range of alternatives for consideration.

Mountview currently offers respite care for older people, people with learning disabilities, people with dementia, and an older people's day service.

Councillor Janet Clowes, Cabinet member in charge of health and adult social care, said: "We want as many people as possible to respond to this consultation."and their thoughts will contribute towards the Council's consideration of this proposal.

"Having a range of services for vulnerable adults and their families to choose from that enables support at home and through their local community is very important. As a Council we want to continue to develop these service options."

The consultation will run from Thursday until April 25.
