Cameras help authority cut nuisance behaviour
NEW technology has helped a partnership reduce anti-social behaviour.
The number of reported incidents in the Staffordshire Moorlands has fallen by 22 per cent to 2,983 so far between 2009 and 2010.
There were 191 incidents of anti-social behaviour last month, compared with 204 in November and 234 in October, according to the figures from the Moorlands Together Safer and Stronger Communities Partnership.
The information revealed vehicle-related nuisance dropped by 33 per cent and rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour by 25 per cent.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council teamed up with social landlord Moorlands Housing to buy 11 mobile CCTV cameras.
They have been placed outside the homes of residents' who have been repeated victims of nuisance behaviour.
Film footage from the cameras provided evidence for authorities to take action.
The partnership also organised activities to keep young people of the streets.
