POLICE have bailed a teenager arrested on suspicion of shooting at ducks on a canal.

The 18-year-old, who has not been named, has been bailed after being arrested on Sunday night.

He was quizzed following reports that two men were shooting at ducks on the Baddeley Green stretch of the Caldon Canal on Saturday afternoon.

So far, the body of one duck has been recovered.

Staffordshire Police and the RSPCA have launched a joint investigation into the incident.

A police spokesman said: "The 18-year-old has been bailed until December."

Police are still appealing for witnesses.
