KIDSGROVE

A 23-year-old man has appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court accused of a stabbing.

Stephen Viggars, of Second Avenue, Kidsgrove, is charged with wounding Ryan Bloor with intent at Kidsgrove in the early hours of Christmas Day, and being in possession of a knife on the same date. His case was adjourned until March 22, when he will enter a plea. He was bailed to live at an address in St Michael's Road, in Pittshill.

A Proceeds of Crime Act hearing has been fixed for a 58-year-old Andrew Fox. Fox was jailed for eight months for growing cannabis at his home in School Lane, Longsdon. The hearing will take place on March 8.

SANDYFORD

The case of a 21-year-old man accused of burglary has been adjourned until March. Norman Frost, of Hollywall Lane, Sandyford, is charged with a burglary at Falls Farm, in Gillow Heath, on December 8. He was bailed to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on March 22, when he will enter a plea.

SHELTON

A 23-year-old man has denied a charge of affray. Vakas Ali, of Trafalgar Road, Hartshill, is accused of taking part in a disturbance in Shelton on May 1, alongside five other men. His case was adjourned until February 1, when all the defendants will appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. Ali's bail was enlarged.

TUNSTALL

A former Stoke-on-Trent man has appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court charged with a burglary in Tunstall. Anthony Kershaw, aged 37, is accused of the offence on January 2. The court heard he was due before magistrates charged with a burglary in Devon, where he now lives. The case was adjourned until February 8 to allow the matter to reach the crown court. Kershaw was remanded in custody.
