Children's artwork celebrating the Lidice Shall Live campaign flooded into Stoke-on-Trent from every corner of the globe this year as entrants to the UK Children's Fine Art Competition. This years theme was

TRADITIONS AND HERITAGE OF MY COUNTRY'S PEOPLE

Judging The 2012 /2013 UK Children's Fine Art Competition (UKCFAC) took place at the SKYROOM of the North Staffordshire YMCA. Over 800 high quality works of art were assessed by nationally recognised judges: Peter Smith, Julie Winwood, Harry Davies, Kerry Darlington, Emma Joustra, Sid Kirkham and Tiffany Budd. And they had a tough task deciding on prizewinners, the children had clearly gone to great lengths to produce some beautiful artworks.

Prizes were awarded across counties at Primary, Secondary and Special school level, culminating in a national award for each level and an award for best overall school contribution. This year saw an increased number of international submissions and a special prize was awarded to the best pieces received from our friends across the pond.

As a partner of the Lidice Gallery, the UKCFAC will ship many pieces to the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts, held in Lidice, one of the largest art competitions in the world.

The UK Children's Fine Art Competition is a non profit making all inclusive opportunity for all children 4-16 years.
