Byron Moore could follow Steve Phillips and Kelvin Mellor by pledging future to Crewe Alexandra
CREWE manager Steve Davis hopes to have new deals for Steve Phillips and Kelvin Mellor signed, sealed and delivered within a week.
The out-of-contract pair are expected to commit themselves to the Alex imminently, with Davis hoping Byron Moore follows in their footsteps sooner rather than later.

Keeper Phillips will become a player-coach while Crewe have improved their offer to keep defender Mellor, who should be fit for the start of the season despite a minor operation to remove bone on an ankle.
Winger Moore is also expected to reach a decision about his future this week, although whether or not that will be at Gresty Road remains to be seen.

Davis said: "We are not far away with Kelvin. We have improved his offer and are very hopeful he will sign shortly.
"I see Steve as being key to what we are trying to do. He wants to develop his coaching, he's been working with the Liverpool academy for 12 months and he can bring a lot into our academy here.
"Byron has been away on holiday for a while and didn't take his phone. He's not the best at communicating.
"He's very close to making his decision. If he's going to stay I will be delighted if not I would like to know sooner rather than later so we can plan for the future.
"I am sure this is the best stage for him to continue his development for at least another 12 months."
It is believed Hibernian are keeping tabs on Moore, aged 23, who would only generate a compensation fee for Crewe if he moved to another English club.
If he does leave, Davis is expected to follow up his interest in Swindon's out-of-contract wide man Billy Bodin with a concrete bid.
Torquay have had a £40,000 offer for Bodin, aged 20, rejected and are not expected to raise their approach above £50,000.
Left-back Jordan Brown, who was released by Crewe last month, has signed for League Two Barnet.
The 20-year-old had joined the Alex in January after being let go by West Ham.
Jason Oswell, who followed Brown out of the door at the end of the season, has joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League.
The 19-year-old youth graduate striker enjoyed a prolific spell on loan at Rhyl last term but it was not enough to earn a new deal in South Cheshire.
"Jason's a finisher whose best is yet to come and we're excited about his potential," said Inverness manager Terry Butcher.
A third released player, Jordan Connerton, is having a trial at Conference North side Chester, along with former England schoolboy international Cliff Moyo, from Hanley.
And centre-half James Tunnicliffe, who was on loan at Crewe last year, has returned to his former club Stockport County after being released by Wycombe.
