Brian Reyes Joins the Calvin Klein Team
The role of vice president and head of global design for Calvin Klein Underwear has been empty for quite some time. The decision to take their time finding a new VP is perhaps understandable considering the immense success that the collection has previously seen. Calvin Klein underwear is almost synonymous with cool, so much so that showing off the elastic band of your CK boxers is a fashion statement in itself.
However, before you rush off to write your cover letter to Mr Klein, you’ll be disappointed to know that the high-pressure role has now been filled. It is designer Brian Reyes who has taken up the gauntlet, and looking at his credentials it seems that your Calvin Klein lingerie is in good hands. Starting his career at Polo Ralph Lauren, and having since worked at both Oscar de la Renta and TSE Cashmere, it seems that Brian Reyes is almost guaranteed to continue building upon CK’s great successes. He’s been working in the fashion industry for more than 10 years now, so he certainly knows a thing or two about what makes a great brand.
The role itself entails a huge amount of responsibility, which judging from Reyes’ aforementioned positions he is more than used to. Reyes is in charge of developing all of the men and women’s Calvin Klein underwear collections. Luckily, it seems that Reyes is already considering ways in which to take the brand forward and how to develop collections that will have consumers banging down the doors. Whilst at Oscar de la Renta he developed a small lingerie line, and his passion for lingerie is evident as he has stated that, "The underwear category is unique in that it is a fundamental basic, but has so much possibility to be intriguing, sexy and desirable.”
The Editeur, an independent boutique that exists as both a physical shop in the beautiful city of Chester and as an online shop, certainly agrees with Reyes’ sentiments about the huge amount of possibilities that underwear has and is looking forward to stocking Reyes’ new collections once they are ready for the public. The Editeur stock a huge variety of designer lingerie brands, including Stella McCartney lingerie, Mimi Holliday and Elle Macpherson Intimates. Whilst you’re waiting to see what Reyes can do for CK, you can pop in and pick up your very own Calvin Klein bra and knickers set.
