DEFENDER Damien McCrory will leave Port Vale and head back to Plymouth Argyle when his one-month loan deal runs out after Saturday's FA Cup first-round clash at Huddersfield Town.

Earlier in the week, Vale manager Dean Glover said he was keen extend the 18-year-old's stay in Burslem after watching him impress at left-back for the Valiants.

Glover said: "The fact he can play in the FA Cup is a massive plus for us.

"If we can take him for another month then that will be even better.

"Plymouth are a big club and Damien is learning his trade here. I think he is enjoying it."

But an extension to the loan deal has been ruled out after the youngster was called up to the Republic of Ireland squad under-19s squad.

Ireland's games against Malta and Liechtenstein later this month would rule him out of Vale's League Two clashes against Wycombe (Nov 22) and Barnet (Nov 25).
